“Dear Little Sister” and “The Day I Ditched my Devices while these are two completely different stories they both leave the liseners to think about things in a new light. I choose “Dear Little Sister” because am a middle child with two sister so in some ways this hit home for me. As for the second story, I choose this story because right now in world where we are attached to our devices 24/7 and it was a refreshing read.

Dear Little Sister

This story stood out to me and probally with the judges as well because of the pure sisterly love and the intersting format. The narrator Trinity started each new idea with “Dear Little Sister” which really brings in liseners in and feel as they are apart of this letter exchange. While, I have never had a sibling in the milary, I understand the hardships of having a sibling seem so far away. My older sister recently moved to New York and although it’s only a bus ride or drive away, it feels further due how our relationship has grown apart slightly. Not for anybad reason, it’s just she been trying get comfortable in new journey in New York and I been busy at school. Similar thing with my younger sister, as we matured have drifted due her busy school and swimming practices but if one us picks up we always answer. My only complant with this, is I wish the music was just a little quieter even though it mellow music, it felt overwhelming at times.

The Day I Ditched my Devices

This story is about something completely different, it tells the story of a college student named Brandon who decieded to a whole day completly with any cellar devices. Which for a college student is pretty admirable and brave especially in today’s world. He admit that when he woke his first instact was to grab his phone which just goes to show just how attached we are to our devices. As Brandon continues to update his lisoners about his experiment, we adds news clipings, and different techy sounds like in begging typing of compunter which I feel like adds to the story. One of the reasons why I think the judges likes this one was because of how honest Brandon was about challenges he faced and how profential he sounded.

Takeaways and what I am thinking about for my podcast

Athough these two stories have nothing similar, they both give the readers something to think about “Dear Little Sister” reminds their lisenors of the importance of family and keeping in contact, while “The Day I Ditched my Devices” reminds the listenors there a whole world outside their device.

Keeping this in mind, I am not the most techy person, I don’t really use social media escape for Instagram and I am learning as go. So right now, I still working out ideas for my podcast. I have my questions that I want to the people that I interview to answer but that’s it. I am still emailing people to find out two people who can spend a few mintues of their day to talk to me and hopefully my anxiety won’t get in the way. My main idea is trying to get more people to use the Lit House and so hopefully, I can ask one of my proffessor and a classmate to get different perspectives. I am really nervous about this part but we see what happens.
